Discovering New Places

Sometimes I am in a certain place in town and I see something interesting in the distance and just have to find out what it is. As in the picture to the left. We were on top of the Basilica dome when we saw this and wanted to find out what it was and why it was so elaborate! So we went wandering one day to get a closer look. We found out it was a very old post office/bank. It was closed and we couldn't got in, but it looked pretty amazing from the outside. Not sure why a post office would be done so elaborately, but it was cool to look at!

Also I have been on the tram many times and passed by this small castle on a hill. Its very hidden behind several tall trees and hard to notice that it evens exist back there, but we discovered it is an old castle called Torley Kastely. Unfortunately we couldn't get into this one either as it has been turned into some kind of Radiology Institute. It was also quite difficult to even get a close look at it as it had huge surrounding walls and trees everywhere, but we got a few peeks.

The third place we went to was a small castle we had heard about just on the outskirts of Budapest. It's called Szaraz-Rudnyanszky Kastely. It now houses rare antique furniture. It was fun to go explore these interesting old places that most tourists will probably never see. Here's some more pics!
