Christmasy Happenings

This past month has been filled with many lovely Christmas events with friends in Hungary. Ryan performed severals times with the drama team a play about Deaf and hearing people coming together. We had a cookie decorating party and Christmas party with friends. We made so many cookies and discussed the Christmas story together. Then we exchanged gifts in an interesting sort of white elephant game. We picked a name from a jar, then you would act out something about that person and everyone had to guess who it was. Then when they did, you would give the gift you brought to that person. And they were nice $5 gifts too, not some stupid old t-shirt or something! It was really fun!

We then got together to practice performing for a group of Deaf children at an orphanage. We dressed up and acted out the Christmas story and Dorothy performed a song in Hungarian Sign Language. We brought some gifts for the kids and hung out with them for a while. They were so great and we really wanted to take some of them home.

On Christmas Eve our friend, David, and his parents came to visit. We had a lovely time chatting and sharing pastries with them. Brooklynn really liked David's mom and I think they enjoyed her too. Its hard being so far away from family and friends at Christmas time, but our friends here and the fun Christmas events made it lovely. Here's some pics!
